Challenge
The primary challenge was designing an organized and user-friendly interface for managing an extensive catalog of ROM files across multiple gaming platforms while serving diverse user types and technical skill levels. The design needed to create clear navigation through numerous console categories and game titles, implement effective search and filtering functionality to help users discover games quickly, design compelling game detail pages with clear download pathways and technical specifications, optimize the experience for both desktop and mobile browsing, and balance information density with visual clarity. The interface had to feel authoritative while remaining accessible to users unfamiliar with retro gaming terminology and emulation concepts.
Solution
Designed a console library grid displaying all supported platforms with clear branding and organization. Created detailed game pages presenting ROM information, file sizes, console compatibility, download options, ratings systems, and related game recommendations. Implemented responsive mobile menu navigation optimized for touch interactions and smaller screens. Designed a community discussion section with user comments and recommendations.
